It’s been one of those long, weird busy, hot temps, beautiful rainstorm, crazy animal kinda days…

I woke up with an awful headache. The upstairs family room window was open all night cooling off the house, which was wonderful. The wind was blowing all night though (not terribly uncommon here). And the smoke from fires around the state and in nearby states has been blowing our way. Maybe that contributed to the headache? Not sure – but some pain and allergy meds seemed to do the trick of kicking it.

I went to get myself a much needed haircut! When I pulled up to the hair salon, I got a text asking if my youngest could have yogurt… well, yes, you can have yogurt and you certainly don’t have to text me to ask if you can… My hairdresser asked if I wanted my hair dried – no thank you ma’am, the wet hair will keep me a bit cooler for a few minutes 😉 LOL When I got home, my son was outside hosing off the dog bed because the kitten peed on it after climbing the walls to the ceiling LOL I wonder if she was hunting for her litter box (that hadn’t moved btw) or just scared herself being that high up. So, off I went to the store to buy a new dog bed because that just seemed easier and I’ve been wanting to buy him a new one anyway. While I was at it I bought him a new dog tag since his old one fell off. That was actually kind of a fun trip, my middle daughter went with me and we picked up some new toys for the kitty.

Lunch around 3 😉 LOL Yup – that’s how I roll… I don’t drink coffee so my thing is really late lunches instead of hunting for my coffee all day!

Then the 3 younger kids went to their brothers to play games around 6. I watched a movie, read some blog posts I’ve been meaning to read, and planned to write an inspirational blog post. Then the kids came home and I could no longer hear my wood wick candle flickering LOL

We “chatted” about our plans for tomorrow…if you can call repeating myself for each child even though we were all in the same room chatting…

And, yes, I know there are a few hours missing in this description of our day… the chickens dug up my flowers, the kids ate popsicles outside, I scrolled FB & IG, we did dishes, swept (I ordered a shorter broom and standing dust pan made for kids for my youngest), vacuumed (I hate spelling all variations of this word btw!), fixed and ate dinner, oldest son came over and chatted for a bit, I paid bills, talked to my sis, chatted with my oldest daughter about her college classes, I talked with my hubby, and we ordered a KiwiCrates subscription that my youngest daughter won. In case you’re interested, here’s a link for $10 off a crate – that’s 50% off (we get a $10 credit too). Oh yeah – and I sat by the open window while it stormed outside and enjoyed the thunder, lightning, and cooler temps 😀

All in all, it was a good day 😀 One of those things was on my plans for the day (besides meals LOL), and that’s okay that all of the other stuff wasn’t. We enjoyed one another and are prepared for tomorrow. This wasn’t quite the blog post I was planning to write. But, it’s an honest look at our day. All the crafting stuff is together to make bracelets and knit yarn dolls with a friend we haven’t seen in many, many months (and this C-V stuff has nothing to do with why), batteries are charged for the rc jeep, and kids are hoping to get ice cream cones tomorrow too. Will all that happen? Who knows? And maybe, just maybe, the girls will read some of the 25 books on Ireland and Italy that I picked up at the library yesterday…

How was your day? What is one thing that you can be proud of today? Mine? … loving my people…
